Rehabilitation exercise helps you go beyond temporary pain relief, building long-term resilience through improved strength, mobility, and confidence.
Whether you are recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, or returning to sport or physically demanding work, we provide structured, clinically-led rehab that delivers real progress and lasting results - not just short-lived quick fixes.
Rehabilitation is delivered by a qualified clinician with expertise in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic assessment, biomechanics, and progressive loading principles. At Tenby Chiropractic we can also uniquely offer diagnostic ultrasound imaging and shockwave therapy to maximise the speed and quality of your recovery, as well as a wide range of hands-on treatments.
Rehabilitation takes place in our dedicated Rehabilitation Suite, fully equipped for performance-based recovery, including adjustable resistance machines, free weights, resistance bands, a power rack for maximum safety, and functional rehab tools.
Injured and sensitized tissues lead to reduced mobility, weakness, stiffness, and loss of confidence. Rehabilitation exercise targets key tissues to stimulate healing and growth, as well as retraining the brain and body how to move correctly. Rehab is also vital in addressing the underlying causes of your symptoms; sometimes, where the pain is felt is not where the underlying cause is!
Rehab exercise is most effective when performed correctly, and in a structured way. At Tenby Chiropractic we will assess your individual needs, produce a bespoke recovery plan for you and guide you through sessions as required. We take time to ensure you know how to perform every activity correctly.
Our approach is:
We don’t hand out generic exercise sheets. Every program is structured, intelligent, progressive, and adapts as you do.
Rehabilitation is suitable for:
Your one-to-one sessions include:
You’ll always know what you’re working on, why it matters, and how it fits into your long-term plan.
At Tenby Chiropractic we are evidence-based (people-focused while lead by science).
This means we recognise that most musculoskeletal issues are most effectively resolved through a combined and coordinated package of therapies. Simply put, we accurately diagnose a problem, consider your goals, needs and preferences, and produce an intelligent care plan to ensure you get the best possible care and lasting results. We integrate hands on therapy, advanced conservative interventions like shockwave therapy, rehab exercise and diagnostic imaging to achieve the most effective results; because their combined effect is much more powerful than just using one type of therapy alone.

Rehab isn’t about how much you can lift - it’s about rebuilding strength, control and confidence in a gentle way. We often start with light resistance or bodyweight exercises and only add load when it’s safe and helpful for your progress. You will never be made to perform an exercise you don't feel safe doing.
Usually not. Most people can begin rehab safely without imaging. If your case needs clarification, we can provide diagnostic ultrasound first if necessary.
Some exercises may be uncomfortable, but high pain levels are almost never required. Whatever happens, we will ensure you are confident, feel safe and are happy with an exercise before we ask you to perform it.
The duration of your rehab program depends on your condition and goals. Some issues may require days to resolve, others can take years. It all depends on the condition and the individual. Most of the time though, rehab lasts weeks and months. That doesn't mean you'll need to visit us every week for months on end; we tend to equip you to perform most of your plan out-of-clinic with periodic visits with us. But, if you prefer to have more one-to-one supervision from us we can accommodate this need too.
Physiotherapists also commonly use rehabilitation exercise. At Tenby Chiropractic we integrate chiropractic hands-on care, including joint manipulation, mobilisation and massage, with rehab to achieve a greater effect. Our rehab programs are guided by the same contemporary sources used by the NHS, sports medicine and modern MSK rehab clinics.
